Long Lake Improvement Association, Inc. is located on Long Lake in Isanti County.....one of 157 Long Lakes in the State of Minnesota, and one of two in Isanti County. Long Lake Improvement Association, Inc. is dedicated to keeping you informed on what is happening in our State and in our Neighborhood. We all want to leave behind a clean water legacy for our children and grandchildren.

Long Lake has 390 acres and is 2 and 1/2 miles long. There are 5.6 miles of shoreline. However, it takes 14.2 miles by car to drive around the lake. The lake is approximately 11 feet deep at the deepest part and is a maximum width of 1/4 mile. The average depth of the lake is 6 feet.

The original dam was built in 1970 with bags of cement and rocks. The dam held well until time took its toll. The new dam was built in 2001 with the help of many lakeshore owners and with the approval of the Minnesota DNR. There is a light pole at the dam which was installed in 1978 and is maintained by the Lake Association.

The lake is divided into areas which have appointed representatives. The Areas are:

     Long Lake Estates
     Chapple Bay
     Paradise Point
     Chi Gak WA 3rd Addition
     Chi Gak WA Shores
     Eastwood Shores
     Chi Gak WA 2nd Addition
     Munday's Porvenir
     Marcy's Bay
     Bay Shores (Hoover Bay)
     Royal Oaks
     Rose Acres
     Olson's West Shores
     Englund Shores
     Mix's Bay

Lake District

A Lake District has been formed for the benefit of the health and well being of Long Lake. Directors were appointed by the Isanti County Board of Commissioners. This board will function independently from the Association under the guidelines of the County and DNR, but will work for the same goal as the Association to eliminate the Curly Leaf Pond Weed that is damaging our lake. We will be working together to raise money through grants, fundraising and donations so that we will be able to effectively treat our lake for the future health and well being of the lake.
